Lair of Sword and Sorcery Bestiary
A ready to use bestiary for your Lair of Sword and Sorcery Games

Hello! First blog of the new year..and well first since last January! I haven't talked on this site yet about my love for table top roleplaying games or ttrpgs.

Lately I have been running a campaign in Lair of Sword and Sorcery^[1] by Precis Intermedia. You can buy it directly from them or via Drive Thru RPG.

I've been having a ton of fun with it. At its core it uses a 2d6 resolution mechanic + or - various stats and derived stats.

Inside the book you are given some rules to create your own monsters, and I've been going all out! Unfortunately I couldn't find much online regarding to others monsters or adventures, which brings us here.

I put together a spreadsheet containing all of my monsters that I have built including special abilties and rankings. Rankings are how the game is balanced, usually aiming for 1/4, or 1/2 of your players cumulative Hero's Rank per encounter.

Be wary however, some of these have special abilities in which I extrapolated on the rules a little bit so they may not be a fit for your game and your players. If you disagree with my rankings in relation to their special abilities (and not their special weaknesses) please refer to page 114 in the LOSS rulebook to see their guidelines on ranking creatures.

You can download the spreadsheet here. It was made entirely with Libre Software and can be opened with Libre Office or any other spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel or Google Drive. I'll be updating this periodically, so feel free to come back and grab an updated copy! I'll send out a post via rss whenever I update it.
